Gluesenkamp Perez, Kent advance to November general election

Democrat U.S Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Republican Joe Kent advanced to November’s general election in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District primary election Tuesday night, beating two other candidates in unofficial vote returns.

Gluesenkamp Perez had 47% and Kent had 38%.In the state of Washington, the top two vote getters in Tuesday’s primary will advance to the November general election.

Gluesenkamp Perez, who owns an auto repair shop with her husband, edged out Kent, a former U.S. Army Green Beret, in 2022 to win the 3rd Congressional District seat by less than one percentage point. And now, both will face each other again in November.
