Oregon Gov. Kotek speaks on tariff impacts, recent agency firings and more

Gov. Tina Kotek hosted another roundtable discussion with local members of the media, Monday afternoon.
The governor began the discussion with condolences for the family of State Sen. Aaron Woods, who passed away Saturday. Kotek also gave her condolences to the families of the player and coach killed in a traffic collision on Friday night.
Last week, the governor and Business Oregon released a survey for Oregon businesses to share the impacts that tariffs are having. According to the 225 businesses that responded, the governor said the main impacts reported are increased costs to customers, increased costs to products that the businesses purchase, and supply chain disruptions.
The governor also said that the top four responding industries are manufacturing, retail, agriculture, and construction.
Kotek said she is attempting to mend state-province relationships with Canada. The governor recently met with the delegate general in charge of the Quebec Consular Office in Seattle. The delegate general visited the Willamette Valley last Friday.
