Active shooter reported at Florida State University Student Union

There are reports of an active shooter at Florida State University (FSU).

The University issued an emergency alert on Thursday after reports of an active shooter near the Student Union. The university’s alert system advised students and staff to "continue to seek shelter and await further instructions."

Authorities confirmed that police are either on the scene or en route to the location. The alert emphasized the importance of locking doors, staying away from windows, and being prepared to take additional protective measures.

"This is an emergency message for Florida State University Tallahassee Campus," the alert stated. "Continue to shelter in place."
