Preschool For All program to add almost 1600 seats across Multnomah County next year

Multnomah County’s Preschool For All program is expanding to serve 1,575 more children in the 2025-26 school year.

The program aims to continue expansion with the goal of providing all children age three to four with free preschool by 2030 through a tax on high income earners. It was created through a ballot initiative that 64% of voters approved in 2020.

Jered Bogli whose says his son has made progress thanks to the program.

"For a while, we never thought he was going to talk and now we sort of wish he’d stopped talking," Bogli quipped. He noted that the program, run through the county, allows more cohesiveness between services his son receives for his developmental disability through the county’s Service Education District and his preschool teacher.
