Vendors outraged by low turnout at Vancouver Outdoor Expo despite high ticket claims

People who paid for a vendor spot at the Vancouver Outdoor Expo in late March are outraged at the event’s turnout.

According to vendors, on March 28-30, event organizer Shane Barbour sold booths for $750 for the three-day event. People came from all over to set up a booth for what they were told was a major event with more than 38,000 tickets sold. But that wasn’t the case.

“Friday was slow, that’s to be expected,” Jessica Levin, Safety Educator for Damsel in Defense, said of the event.

Levin told KATU News that Barbour told her via text message, “We sold 38,000 tickets pre-sold to get into the show. We should hit about 60,000 to 65,000 [people].”
