Visit Bend gives major financial boost to avalanche safety efforts

The Central Oregon Avalanche Center has received $90,000 from Visit Bend to help in forecasting avalanche danger. The money will predominately be used to pay avalanche forecasters and people on the ground surveying snowpack conditions.
