Opening statements have begun in the trial of Robert Atrops, who is accused of murdering his estranged wife, Deborah Atrops, over three decades ago in Oregon.
The trial, initially delayed due to the death of a key witness, is now proceeding with a new jury.
Investigators allege that Robert Atrops strangled Deborah in 1988. He reported her missing in November of that year after she failed to pick up their 8-month-old daughter. Her body was discovered on Dec. 1, abandoned in her car in Beaverton.
