Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing a $1,000 rebate on property taxes for Florida homestead residents.

This comes after the Florida House of Representatives proposed last week to cut sales tax from 6% to 5.25%.

The governor is pushing back on the proposed sales tax cut, saying those changes would do more to help tourists and not Floridians.
