VP JD Vance discusses Greenland’s future as he addresses soldiers at a U.S. Space Force Base

Vice President JD Vance and his wife arrived in Greenland on Friday to visit a military base amid a spat with the territory over the president’s suggestion that the U.S. should acquire it.

Vance and his wife Usha made a one-day trip to the U.S. Space Force outpost at Pituffik that was scaled back after officials from Denmark and Greenland highly criticized the visit as an “escalation” in the administration’s rhetoric about taking over the territory. The vice president is received a briefing and delivered remarks to U.S. military members at the base. National security advisor, Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright also took the trip.
