Parents of Portland teen shot in the head, critically hurt call for community support

The parents and family of 16-year-old Elliott Beck are calling on the community for positive thoughts and prayers as he remains in stable yet critical condition after being shot in the head.
"We don’t understand this, he’s not someone who would ever get in a confrontation," said Lucinda Bowman, a family friend who the Becks have authorized to speak on their son’s account. "He’s someone that would help anybody, a grandma walking across the street, he loves his dogs. he has a twin sister."
The Portland Police Bureau has confirmed it’s investigating the incident that took place at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday near Cathedral Park on 6700 Block of N. Pittsburg Ave.
