Crash sends mother, infant child to hospital with serious injuries in Portland

A mother and her infant child were hit by a car Monday morning in southeast Portland.

The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. at the intersection of southeast Division and 164th Avenue.

“Both the mom and child are at the hospital with serious injuries, but are not believed to be life-threatening,” Sergeant Kevin Allen said.

The first person on scene, Joey, told KATU News he saw the crash happen at 6:50 a.m. while he was getting ready to go out with his mother, brother, and one-year old child.

"All of a sudden, as I went to click my baby, my eye caught the hit at the same time in my peripheral. It was a big boom and all of a sudden, no noise, no nothing, no screaming," Joey said.
