Guide Dogs for the Blind to expand Oregon campus with $28 million project

Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) is set to break ground this summer on a large expansion at its Boring, Oregon campus.

The new 30,000-square-foot client residence and community hub will more than double GDB’s capacity to serve people who are blind or visually impaired in Oregon and beyond.

The project, designed by Studio Miers | Chou | Poon, includes architect Chris Downey, who is blind, ensuring an inclusive and accessible space.

The expansion will feature private suites, a community hub with a café and information center, and an expansive outdoor green space with sensory gardens and dedicated areas for dog training and events.
