Oregon settles wrongful murder conviction of Frank Gable for nearly $2M

The Oregon Department of Justice agreed to pay a nearly $2 million settlement to Frank Gable, who sued the state after federal judges vacated his 1991 conviction for the murder of a state official.
Gable served a 29-year prison sentence for the 1989 murder of Oregon Corrections Director Michael Francke, who was fatally stabbed outside his agency’s Salem office building.
