President Trump meets with NATO Secretary General as Russia-Ukraine peace talks intensify

The Trump administration is continuing to hold high-stakes talks to help bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war as Russian President Vladimir Putin says he agrees "in principle" with the United States’ proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine.

During a news conference Thursday, Putin said the terms of the deal would need to be worked out but that it may "pave the way" to lasting peace.

Trump’s team is meeting with officials in Moscow as Trump himself met with NATO’s Secretary General at the White House Thursday.

Mark Rutte had previously urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to find a way to repair his relationship with Trump after the heated exchange in the Oval Office at the end of February.
