The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office gave an update Thursday on the case of the missing toddler found dead in the Siletz River earlier this week.
A diver found 2-year-old Dane Paulsen at around 11 a.m. Tuesday, bringing a tragic end to an 11-day search for the boy.
The medical examiner confirmed his cause of death was drowning after an autopsy on Wednesday.
“Dane’s disappearance has been absolutely heartbreaking. Recovering his body has given his family some closure and answers,” Lincoln County Sheriff Adam Shanks said.
