Foothill, Coast showers continue overnight but a heat wave is on our doorstep

Felt like an October day today and Foothill, Coast showers will likely continue overnight tonight. But don’t be fooled as a heat wave is right on our doorstep- The cold front that brought showers on Monday will pass, and high pressure to the south will replace it bringing back hot temperatures and eventually thunderstorms chances by the weekend.

High pressure will build into the Northwest by Thursday leading to temperatures in Douglas County near 100-degrees. By the weekend, high pressure will inch a bit further to the southeast and that will allow a flux of monsoonal moisture to cool temperatures slightly but also bring fuel for thunderstorms to develop on Saturday through Monday.
