Proposal to remove hundreds of trees in Portland’s Forest Park for PGE lines draws concern
1 min read
Hundreds of trees in Portland’s Forest Park could soon be removed.
This is part of a five-phase project by PGE to upgrade and expand transmission lines.
The first phase of this project was along the Willamette River, while the second phase was near Northwest Portland.
The current phase is phase number three. That’s where PGE wants to upgrade an existing transmission line that’s already in Forest Park as well as add a new transmission line which they say will increase reliability.
If this phase goes through, 376 trees will be removed.
