Lan Su Chinese Garden in Portland embarks on transformative expansion for its 25th anniversary

The Lan Su Chinese Garden is expanding! The garden says the expansion will transform how it serves the community for generations to come.

ARC PDX talked with Elizabeth Nye, executive director of the garden, about the designs.

Nye says one of the reasons why this expansion is important now is that Lan Su is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

And as they gear up for celebrations, Nye says they also want to remember that when people in the community came together to build Lan Su, it was visionary and an "act of confidence" in the city. She says they’re anticipating a five-year timeline to raise the money and finalize details for the expansion.
