President Donald Trump is set to attend a meeting with top CEOs on Tuesday where he will deliver remarks to many of whom have seen their market value drop-in recent days as recession and inflation fears raise uncertainty.
Trump will deliver remarks at the quarterly meeting of the Business Roundtable, a non-partisan economic advocacy group based in Washington, D.C. consisting of more than 200 CEOs. Some of the CEOs in this group lead major U.S. companies including Apple, JPMorgan Chase and Walmart.
The meeting comes as the U.S. stock market dropped significantly with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down more than 700 points as of Tuesday. Financial markets have been in a selloff which has put Trump’s economic plan under pressure.
Wall Street’s uncertainty centers on Trump’s on-again, off-again tariffs on Canada and Mexico.
