Oregon’s sole Republican Congressman Rep. Cliff Bentz talks calls from voters, Medicaid, and more

Oregon’s only Republican congressman says his office is getting a lot calls – on some days as many as 1,000 – with many constituents responding to the substantial cuts taking place in the federal government.

Rep. Cliff Bentz was elected to represent Oregon’s Second District, which covers 20 of the state’s 36 counties.

It’s the seventh largest district in the nation and it’s also the only reliably Republican district in Oregon – it’s been that way since 1981.

The one-on-one conversation with Rep. Bentz is wide ranging, and at a point touched on him being a member of a powerful committee on Medicaid.
