Two central Oregon locals receive rare and prestigious award for lifesaving efforts

A Redmond-based Oregon State Trooper and his friend received an American Red Cross lifesaving award on Monday, following their efforts to save a man who had gotten lost in a remote area in Oregon. The Red Cross says the award was created in 1911, and only 2,500 people have received it worldwide.
