Search for missing 2-year-old Oregon boy continues; volunteers cover hundreds of acres

The search for a 2-year-old toddler who went missing from his residence in Siletz, Oregon this past weekend continued into Monday.

Dane Paulsen went missing near milepost 21 on Highway 229, north of Siletz.

The search effort intensified Monday on the ground, in the water water, and by air with support from local authorities and community volunteers. The toddler was wearing a grey fuzzy hoody with ears, blue and white shoes, and black pants at the time of his disappearance.

He has brown hair and green eyes. Dane was last seen playing in the front yard of his home, out of sight of his parents. Officials described him as ‘friendly and fearless," and comfortable around strangers and water, but cannot swim.

"Dane is known to love water and vehicles," authorities said in a statement.
