Life sentence for man convicted for 2023 stabbing death in Southeast Portland

Rahnique Jackson was sentenced to life in prison Friday for the stabbing death of Colin Smith in July 2023.

The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office says Jackson, 25, will be eligible for parole after 25 years.

A 12-person jury decided unanimously that Jackson is guilty of one count of murder in the second degree, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, and one count of bias crime in the second degree.
