Tornado warning issued for part of Oregon as thunderstorms sweep the region

The National Weather Service in Portland issued severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington on Monday evening, as well as a tornado warning for part of Marion County.

The thunderstorm warnings were issued for parts of Columbia, Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, and Clark counties.

The tornado warning was issued for the area around Silverton, Scotts Mills and Mt. Angel.

The cold front associated with a low-pressure system in the Northeast Pacific is moving eastward, producing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rain.
