Multnomah County officials reject AMR staffing proposal at end of mediation

On Thursday, the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners voted 3-1 to reject an ambulance staffing model that has garnered broad support from first responders and city officials.

The staffing model was proposed by the county’s ambulance provider, AMR, in February.

It suggests changing to a one-paramedic, one-EMT model, rather than its current model of two EMTs, citing slow response times in life-threatening situations.
