Founder of Afro Sheen shares his inspiring story in to autobiography

In 1954, Chicagoan George E. Johnson took out a loan for a couple hundred dollars and turned into the first Black-owned company to be listed on the American Stock Exchange. As the founder of Johnson Products Co., the makers of Afro Sheen, he used his wealth to support other entrepreneurs, education, civil rights, and even Soul Train. He tells the story in his new book “Afro Sheen: How I Revolutionized an Industry with the Golden Rule, from Soul Train to Wall Street” with co-author Hillary Beard.
