The Senate is poised to vote Thursday on the confirmation of Kash Patel as FBI director, with support from a key Republican senator bolstering his chances.

Patel cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee last week by a 12-10, party-line vote and is set for consideration by the Republican-controlled Senate on Thursday afternoon.

Patel, one of President Donald Trump’s top picks, is expected to secure the necessary votes for confirmation. A procedural vote is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by the final vote at 1:45 p.m. eastern time.

"We’ll vote on him on Thursday, and all the tricks the Democrats have been playing, and they’re going to have to start calling him Kash Patel, Director Patel," Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-OK, said on Rob Schmitt Tonight.
