President Trump signs executive order to expand IVF access, affordability

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday aimed at expanding access to in vitro fertilization (IVF).
The order, according to a fact sheet shared by the White House, directs policy recommendations to protect access to the treatment, as well as to "aggressively reduce" related out-of-pocket and health plan costs. Existing policies which "exacerbate the cost of IVF treatments" will be prioritized, the fact sheet says.
The fact sheet also notes the executive order recognizes "the importance of family formation" and that U.S. policy "must make it easier for loving and longing mothers and fathers to have children."
