People leaving cold weather emergency shelter in Portland share their experience

Multnomah County’s emergency warming shelters were near capacity overnight Monday as temperatures dipped below freezing.

On Tuesday, KATU’s Christina Giardinelli caught up with two people – Rockstar and Drew – who stayed in the shelter to hear their firsthand experience with the bitter winter cold on Portland’s streets.

Multnomah County’s state of emergency will go through at least 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.
