F-35 fighter jet crash in Alaska prompts Air Force investigation

An Air Force pilot was able to safely eject before an F-35 fighter jet crashed in a fiery explosion at the Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska Tuesday.
The incident happened around 12:49 p.m. and the cause is under investigation, according to a release from 354th Fighter Wing Public Affairs. The pilot, who was not identified, was transported to Bassett Army Hospital for further evaluation.
