Join Washington Post reporters for live coverage of the confirmation hearing of Tulsi Gabbard to be the next director of national intelligence.

Gabbard, a U.S. Army Reserve officer and former Democratic congresswoman, is considered an unconventional pick for the role. She has faced criticism for her antiwar views, which are seen as sympathetic to Moscow, and for meeting with and defending then-Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in 2017. Like Trump, she has been critical of aid to Ukraine. As director of national intelligence, Gabbard would head 18 spy agencies and oversee a $76 billion budget.
