YVYV: Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield on Trump’s birthright citizenship order

A federal judge in Washington has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at modifying birthright citizenship, just six days into his presidency.
The order, which sought to change who can obtain citizenship through birthright, was challenged by attorneys general from Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Illinois.
The temporary restraining order was issued on Thursday, with another hearing scheduled for February 6 to determine whether the block will be extended. Birthright citizenship is enshrined in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
In response to the ruling, Oregon’s Attorney General Dan Rayfield, a Democrat, released a statement saying, "Today’s ruling protects the rights of all kids born in Oregon. And it shows that the checks and balances in our system protect everyone’s Constitutional rights, no matter who is in the White House."
President Trump has vowed to continue pushing for the executive order to take effect.
