‘A very happy child’: Mother of 7-year-old killed in shooting on Jacksonville’s Westside speaks out

A 7-year-old boy was fatally shot Friday afternoon during a Westside shooting. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the boy and a 21-year-old man were walking out of a home around 5 p.m. on Commonwealth Avenue when a car, believed to be a Kia Soul, pulled up, people got out and started shooting.
