Police arrest two teens in the killing of man who tried to stop robbery at Fred Meyer

Portland police have arrested two teenagers, accusing them of killing a man who was trying to stop a robbery outside a Northeast Portland Fred Meyer earlier this month, as well as another teenager accused of another robbery, the Portland Police Bureau said Thursday.
Police said 47-year-old Jonathan Trent witnessed a robbery on Monday, Jan. 13 at the Fred Meyer near Northeast 102nd Avenue and Halsey in the Hazelwood neighborhood and was shot when he tried to intervene. Police arrived to find him lying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
