St. Helens School District outlines changes being made amid sex abuse scandal

The St. Helens School District offered a one-page document outlining changes it plans to make in the wake of a sex abuse scandal along with notes from parent, student, and staff listening sessions as proof of performance for its outgoing acting superintendent.
Dr. Steve Webb was contracted for a period of up to 90 days to fill the shoes of Scot Stockwell, one of 10 St Helens faculty members placed on administrative leave after the arrest of two teachers on a slew of sex abuse charges in mid-November.
Webb’s contract allows for either party to be released from its terms early with a 10-day notice letter. When asked, the school district was not immediately able to say who provided the 10-day notice of termination but said it was provided because Webb had completed the tasks the district had hired him for.
