Attorney for St Helens teacher delays bail hearing amid flurry of motions

The bail hearing for a St Helens High School teacher on trial for multiple sexual abuse allegations is delayed until Monday after the judge said Stearns’ attorney no showed. The attorney disputes that claim.

Deputies escorted 46-year-old Eric Stearns into the courtroom around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Around 1:45 p.m. Judge Brajcich appeared before the court noting that the prosecutor was present along with the alleged victims and their attorney. Brajcich also noted Stearns was present but pointed out that his attorney, Jennifer Myrick, was not. Brajcich recessed while court clerks attempted to reach Myrick.
