Former Sherwood High student-teacher sentenced to 3 years in prison; inappropriate conduct

Mason Isaiah Dominguez, 25, was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to attempted using child in display of sexually explicit conduct and two counts of luring a minor.

“So this case involved Mason Dominguez, who at the time was a 23-year-old student teacher at Sherwood High School. He was also an assistant football coach for the high school,” said Rayne Meisel, deputy district attorney for Washington County. “So he was striking up relationships online with some of the female students at the high school, mostly sophomores and freshmen girls and one of them which in and of itself is against the policy of the high school.”

The conversation with one student got increasingly more sexual over time.
