Providence St. Vincent limiting patients ahead of Friday’s system-wide strike

Providence is preparing for a potential shortage of doctors and nurses ahead of what could be the largest health care worker strike in Oregon history.
On Friday, nearly 5,000 doctors and nurses across all eight Providence hospitals and other clinics plan to start an open-ended strike amid contract negotiations.
Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (PSVMC) in Southwest Portland began limiting its total patient capacity on Monday. It plans to gradually shrink its capacity daily ahead of the looming strike.
