Underwater volcano off Oregon coast could erupt in 2025

The Axial Seamount is located approximately 300 miles off of the Oregon Coast, west of Cannon Beach. Researchers are predicting that the volcano could erupt in 2025 based on observational data acquired from monitoring equipment and similarities to recent eruption events. In this segment, Greg Nibler speaks to Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, a Seismologist and Geologist with Western Washington University.
