St. Helens teacher accused of sex abuse appears in court

St. Helens High School teacher Eric Stearns appeared in court in Columbia County on Monday after he was arrested over the weekend on 10 new sexual abuse charges

Stearns, the school’s choir teacher, was initially arrested on Nov. 12, 2024, following an investigation that led to his indictment on seven counts of sexual abuse in the second degree and one count of sexual abuse in the third degree.
