Bend man found dead at Holiday Motel; police investigating as homicide

Bend Police are investigating the death of a man at the Holiday Motel Friday as a homicide. Nobody has been arrested.

Robert Lewis Treher, 34, of Bend was declared dead at the scene, Bend Police Communications Manager Sheila Miller said in a statement Saturday.

Police responded to a welfare check at the motel around 8:24 a.m. Friday. Miller said an employee had entered the room and found Treher unresponsive.

Miller said the death is being actively investigated as a homicide. Police have not released any other details into the manner of the homicide. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.

Bend Police was assisted by an Oregon State Police forensics team. Law enforcement was on scene until 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

The motel is located in the 800 block of SE 3rd Street, about three blocks north of Reed Market Road.
