Friends and dormmates at the University of Oregon reunite in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl

The Duck invasion of southern California is underway.

Football fans from Oregon have flocked here to watch their team play in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day against Ohio State.

Duck flags attached to cars with Oregon license plates flapped in the wind on Los Angeles roads and freeways on Tuesday.

Chris Weiler and his family drove 13 hours from Bend.

“Drove here yesterday and, yeah, we were just hoping they were going to get in the playoffs, and they did. We made a commitment that if they made it, we were going to all try to make it down,” he said.

But it gets better. Michelle Francois and her family drove here from Junction City. She and Weiler lived in the same coed dorm at the University of Oregon in the late 1980s.
