PPS settles hate incident lawsuit for $225K at West Sylvan Middle School

Portland Public Schools paid a West Sylvan Middle School family over $200,000 to settle a lawsuit centered on a hate-based incident.
Back in early 2023, a family came forward saying their black son was assaulted by other students at the school when they allegedly reenacted the death of George Floyd on him.
