You could soon see cameras on school buses. The new Oregon state law is not a requirement, but it allows districts to install cameras on school buses to crack down on drivers who pass buses that are stopped.
Videos showing drivers blow past buses, narrowly missing kids, have gone viral. A Wilsonville teen told lawmakers it happened to him and it ultimately sparked the Oregon legislature to pass a bill allowing school districts to install cameras outside of school buses.
