Global tech outage grounds flights across the country
1 min read
Thousands of flights were grounded Friday morning due to a global technology outage that led to cancellations and delays at airports across the country.
CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm, said the issue arose from trouble with a software update and was not the result of hacking or a cyberattack.
As of Friday afternoon, almost 7,000 flights into or out of the United States were canceled, according to FlightAware.com.
