St. Helens School District places 10 staff on leave amid teacher sex abuse investigations

The St. Helens School District has placed 10 staff members on paid administrative leave as part of ongoing investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct or failure to report such misconduct.

In November, a former math teacher and current choir teacher at St. Helens High School were both arrested by police on charges of abusing students. The arrests sparked mass outrage among parents and the St. Helens community, and in the fallout, both the principal of the high school and the district superintendent were put on leave.
