Luigi Nicholas Mangione, 26, was taken into custody around 9:15 a.m. EST in Altoona, Pennsylvania after police received a tip that he was eating at a McDonald’s, according to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
When police in Pennsylvania asked him if he’d been to New York recently, he didn’t answer and started shaking, according to an arrest affidavit.
A preliminary arraignment for Mangione was held Monday night at the Blair County Court House, where he was held without bail.
