YVYV: Republican House Minority Leader Christine Drazan

The Oregon legislature is just weeks away from its long session. Lawmakers are facing some big decisions that will have a lasting impact on the state.

A familiar face in Oregon politics is returning to the state legislature.

Republican Christine Drazan, the former House Minority Leader, will be sworn in in January.

Drazan resigned from the legislature in 2022, to run for governor. She lost that race to Democrat Tina Kotek.

Drazan won back her legislative seat this year and her republican house colleagues elected her, once again, as their leader.

When the Oregon legislature starts in January, one of the top priorities will be addressing Governor Kotek’s budget proposal.
