7.0 magnitude earthquake off Northern California rattles West Coast residents

A tsunami warning for coastal areas of California and Oregon has been canceled after an earthquake struck offshore Thursday morning.
The Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer, Alaska issued the warning after an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 struck about 62 miles west of Ferndale, Calif. The warning was canceled around noon PT.
