St. Helens High School principal pleads not guilty to charges related to abuse scandal

Dr. Kathryn "Katy" Wagner, the principal of the school at the center of the St. Helens School District sex abuse crisis, appeared in court Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to charges relating to alleged failure as a school administrator to report child abuse.
Wagner was indicted on Tuesday, Nov. 26 and turned herself in to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on criminal charges earlier Wednesday morning.
She pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment, a Class C Felony, two counts of first-degree official misconduct, Class A Misdemeanor, and two counts of second-degree official misconduct, a Class C Misdemeanor.
